Every bib tells a story, but maps tell the bigger one..
Running Maps
A visual journey of marathons and ultras across India — one state at a time.
My running journey began in California around 1999/2000, though in those early years I wasn’t chasing medals or collecting BIBs — I was just running.
Things changed after joining Pace-Makers in Bangalore. That’s when the idea took shape: to run an official full marathon (42.2 km) or longer in every Indian state.
This map shows my progress so far — a good sweep of the south, a few forays into the west, but the north and east are still wide open.
Races like the Bodhgaya Marathon in Bihar & the TGC Chhattisgarh, on my radar for the next.
The Tuffman Andaman Ultra in the Andamans is another strong choice, though logistics might be tricky — it usually takes place during the first weekend of January. The Guwahati Marathon in Assam is also appealing, especially since I grew up there. The Tawang Marathon in Arunachal Pradesh looks beautiful, but the altitude could be a challenge — it’s held in the third week of October.
